a coloured special effect filter, the antique suede brings out
deep browns and yellows in the image.
It can be used to give the scene a muted look because
it de-emphasizes strong blues and greens, but can also provide
a warm golden glow when used on lighter colours.
Most commonly the antique suede filter is used to
create an old-fashioned look and is often used for
Western’s.
However, it can also be used for many other purposes such as
flashbacks or dream sequences.
